Good Deeds Day at BRJC Makes the News!

Rabbi’s Message

Shalom All,

Chag Sameach! Happy Passover!

Passover is a time of great joy for us. The holiday recounts how a group of slaves, with the help of the Creator, went from bondage to freedom. This rag-tag group ultimately made it to the Promised Land and became the nation of Israel. They left a place called Mitzrayim, which means a place of tightness and constriction.

During this time, take a moment either at your seder or during the Passover week to think about how you can move from slavery to freedom. Are you plagued by depression? Are you in a situation filled with negativity? Is there something you want to change in your life? If so, this is the time to make the resolution to change.

It won’t be easy, but important things never are. What matters is that you try. We are meant to be happy and free. We don’t have to live in the darkness. We can move into the light. Pesach is a time for us to move from our own Mitztrayim to our own places of freedom. It may look daunting, but it all begins with a single step. May you all have a Passover that it filled with light, laughter, and, most of all, love.

Peace,

Rabbi Bob
